On August 22th, 2024, The Department of Physics, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University organized a two day event “COSMOS QUEST- 2024” to celebrate the National Space Day. The first day of this event comprised of an inaugural ceremony in which Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Dean, Faculty of Science, Head, Department of Zoology, Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C., Head, Department of History, Dr. Kavita Verma, Head, Department of Physics, all the faculty members of Department of Physics and the teachers of Govt. boys senior secondary school, Rejendra Nagar, Patna, Bihar were present.

Quiz Competition on the theme “Embracing India’s Space Saga” for PRAYAS Scheme students from Govt. boys senior secondary school, Rejendra Nagar, Patna, Bihar, and a Poster Making competition on the theme “Past, Present and Future of Space Technology and it’s application” were conducted simultaneously. The Quiz Competitionwas held in the Video Conferencing Hall, Science Block at 11:30 am and it comprised of total 40 students and the winners were declared 1st prize: Pawan Kumar, Ankit Kumar, 2nd prize: Rituraj Singh, Prince Raj, 3rd prize: Krishna Kumar, Prince Raj. The students of all semesters UG and PG, Department of Physics were present as audience.

The poster making competition was held in the Physics Lab, Science Block at 11:30 am and had a total participants of 18 groups, each comprising of 2 members each. The judges for the Poster Making competition were Ms. Manisha Prasad, Assistant Professor , Department of Computer Applications and Ms. Amrita Prakash, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Applications.

A Webinar on the topic entitled Chandryaan-2 & the Artemis program: “Engineering Insights into Remote Sensing & GIS on the Moon” delivered by Dr Prateek Tripathi, University of Central Florida. India’s space program under the current year theme for National Space Day “Touching Lives While Touching the Moon” was the goal of the event, which was to spread awareness and enthusiasm among students. The event was very informative, insightful, compelling, and thought provoking. More than 100 participants registered and attended the Webinar.
