Engages students in community service and social responsibility
SAMARTH’ Social Work Club, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, actively engages students in community service and social responsibility.On 23rd February 2025 In collaboration with Department of Social Work P.A.C.E (Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement Programme) and Being Helper Foundation, SAMARTH’ Social Work Club recently played a key role in the “Ganga Swachhta Mahakumbh Patna”, organized by the Being Helper Foundation, for the first time in collaboration with SBI As part of this initiative, SAMARTH club members participated in an ongoing 251-hour mega cleanliness drive, collecting 310 kilograms of waste from Digha Ghat.The collected waste was systematically sent to the Patna Municipal Corporation’s waste management treatment plant for proper disposal.
The club conducted a public awareness campaign at Marine Drive Golambar, displaying posters and banners to sensitize the public about maintaining the cleanliness and sanctity of the Ganga River.
This initiative marks the first-ever “Ganga Swachhta Mahakumbh Patna”, a three-month-long campaign focusing on ghat cleaning, effective waste management, and active community engagement.The whole activity was coordinated by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Coordinator of ‘SAMARTH’ Social Work Club, and Head, Department of Social Work , Patna Women’s College, and Mr. Shubham, Coordinator of Being Helper Foundation, Patna.
