The Department of Microbiology, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) organized an Online Guest lecture on “Contribution of Dairy Microbiology to Vision Viksit Bharat@2047” on 24th August, 2024 in the Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre, Science Block from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm under PWC Alumni Connect. The Resource person for the event was Dr. Ankita Gautam, Assistant Professor, Warner College of Food and Dairy Technology, SHUATS, Allahabad. She is an alumna of the Department of Microbiology, Patna Women’s College Batch of 2006-2009.The program commenced with the welcome address delivered by Dr. Jaya Philip, Head, Department of Microbiology followed by the lecture by the resource person. Dr. Ankita Gautam illuminated the pivotal role played by Dairy Microbiology in contributing to India’s vision of becoming a fully developed nation by 2047. She emphasized the critical importance of the dairy sector, which is a cornerstone of India’s agricultural industry. The resource person also discussed how ensuring the safety and quality of dairy products is essential for safeguarding public health, thereby supporting the nation’s commitment to this ambitious vision.Overall the lecture was highly engaging, productive and informative, broadening the horizon of students’ mind. Towards the end of lecture, there was an interactive session of question and answers followed by the vote of thanks proposed by Mariya Abid.The lecture was a comprehensive exploration of how the advancements in Dairy Microbiology can drive innovation, sustainability and health. It emphasized the crucial role of scientific research and education in shaping the future, ultimately contributing to the vision of a prosperous and developed Bharat by 2047.
