Hygiene kits for the adopted slums
On January 26, 2025, the Department of Social Work of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University, under the Social Work Club ‘SAMARTH’ organised an activity of distribution of hygiene kits for the adopted slums ( Patna Mahila Aayog and Adalat Ganj). The hygiene kit was made by the students of Department of Social Work, Economics and social work club members from different Departments. The kit consisted of a sanitary pad, handkerchief, handwash and other basic things. Beneficiaries for this activity were the unmarried adolescents’ girls from the age group of 12 to 20 years. The activity initiated with a brief demo on how to use sanitary pads with a quick session on menstrual hygiene and its implications. The members of the Club enthusiastically participated in it and raised awareness about menstruation, sanitation and hygiene. All the club members actively participated in the distribution of these hygiene kits. The whole activity was coordinated by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Coordinator, Social Work Club ‘SAMARTH’ and Head, Department of Social Work and Sister Sanjana A.C., Assistant professor Department of Social Work.
