INAUGURATION CUM ORIENTATION PROGRAM 2024
The inauguration cum orientation program for the Ecospectrum (Economic Forum), organised by the Department of Economics, was held on October 22, 2024, at B.J. Sullivan Hall. The Head of the Department of Economics, Dr. Zareen Fatima, introduced the Ecospectrum club and emphasised that the club is designed to ignite interest among members by exploring how economic principles apply to real-world contexts. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Surya Bhushan, Professor at DMI. The esteemed professor, along with Dr. Zareen Fatima (HOD), Assistant Professor Dr. Swastika Satyam, and Assistant Professor Ms. Kamaljeet Kaur, unveiled the logo, symbolising the pursuit of economic knowledge and intellectual discourse.
Prof. Surya Bhushan delivered a comprehensive and engaging lecture, elucidating fundamental economics concepts such as consumer behaviour, institutions, and economic incentives. The session was attended by the faculty of the Department of Economics and the members of Ecospectrum. The interactive session that followed witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students.
A notable highlight of the program was Dr. Surya Bhushan’s introduction to books and research bank in economics for students seeking to deepen their understanding of the subject. His inspiring remarks encouraged students to leverage the Ecospectrum platform to enhance their knowledge, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
