Department of Chemistry, Patna women’s college organized the innovision startup of sustainable development from zero waste (innovate & create). As a part of vigyan utsav 2025, theme for the competition was “zero waste startup for sustainability of health and environment ” on 27th February 2025 at 11 am in open stage hall. It gives students an opportunity to come up with innovative ideas for sustainable development.
It was an Inter-College event in which a total of sixteen teams participated, 13 groups representing Patna Women’s College, while the other three teams were from B.N. College, Aryabhata University and Magadh Mahila College, Patna.
The participants presented their startup ideas on topic: Generate electricity from waste materials on large scale, Carbon and water purification, Water harvesting and purification by solar panel, Fire fighting robot, Plastic recycle, smart irrigation, smart dustbin and many more.
The event was judged by

  • Dr Awadhesh Kumar from department of geography of Patna women’s college.
  • Dr Smita Kumari from department of Sanskrit of Patna women’s college.
  • Dr Rashmi Sinha from department of education of Patna women’s college

After the judgment of the startup, the 1st prize bagged by code no 1 (Department of Chemistry, PWC). 2nd prize by code no 14 (Microbiology, PWC). 3rd prize by code no 12 (Data Science & Analytics, PWC).
The event was well coordinated by Dr. Madhu Rani Sinha, Head, Department of Chemistry, Dr. Ashish Kumar, Dr. Jyoti Chandra, Dr. Jyotsana Kumari, Dr. Nandini Kumari and R N Roy Majumdar. The anchor for the event was Dr. Jyoti Chandra, Department of Chemistry, PWC.
