medicine booth for Lymphatic Filariasis

The NSS unit, Patna Women’s College in collaboration with WHO Patna and Health Department, Government of Bihar had organized a medicine booth for Lymphatic Filariasis on 28th and 29th August’2024 from10.00am to 3.30pm in Video Conferencing Hall, Science Block.
Bihar is one of the most affected areas of Lymphatic Filariasis accounting for 25% in India. To eliminate it, a Mass Drug Administration campaign is conducted twice every year.
Around 1000 student, teachers and non-teaching staffs came forward to take the medicine.
Dr. Subash ,DMO, Health Department, Patna inaugurated the drive by giving medicine to one student.
Doctors from World Health Organization as well as Dr. Pankhuri Mishra State lead, Project Concern International came for this drive.
Dr Prakash Kumar Singh from Patna sadar hospital along with other nurses and Asha workers helped to make this drive successful.
This drive was conducted under the supervision of programme officers Dr. Shahla Rehana and Dr. Amrita and it was managed by ten NSS volunteers.
