On August 07, 2024, The Department of Commerce, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, organized an informative session on “Navigating the Numbers: A Talk on Decoding Budget 2024”, under PWC Alumni Connect. The Resource Person for the event was CA Pallavi Jha, Chairperson, Patna Branch of ICAI, Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. She is alumna of Department of Commerce, Patna Women’s College.
The Programme commenced with the inaugural address by Dr. Soofia Fatima, H.O.D, Department of Commerce & Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management. Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal, President, Patna Women’s College Alumni Association (PWCAA), Head Department of Philosophy, Patna Women’s College, addressed the students and highlighted the role of PWC Alumni Association. She shared her valuable insights for the event and presented the importance of Alumni Connect. She was presented with a token of respect by CS Shweta Shah, Coordinator, B. Com Commerce Professional. The resource person, CA Pallavi Jha was presented a sapling as a token of appreciation by Ms. Puja Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. Her session highlighted the key areas of BUDGET 2024 -25 WITH NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL PERSPECTIVES. She emphasized on the four major segments for the budget allocation on Women, Youth, Poor and Farmers. She gave an insight about the implications of budget on Employment, Skilling, MSMEs, Middle class, Urban Development, etc. The programme was moderated by Anushka Deo, student of B. Com. Hons. (Accounting and Finance) and vote of thanks was given by Aliba Nadeem. The session concluded with the National Anthem. The students of B. Com. Hons. Semester V, B. Com. Hons. Commerce Professional, Semester III, and the teachers of the Department of Commerce attended the session.
