An online workshop titled “Mastering Hydroponics: A Hand-on Guide” was successfully conducted on October 01, 2024 by the Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, in collaboration with the Department of Botany, Holy Cross College, Trichy. This informative event aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of hydroponics, a revolutionary technique of cultivating plants without soil.
The workshop commenced with a solemn prayer, setting a positive and conducive atmosphere for the ensuing discussions. Dr. Pinky Prasad, Head of the Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College, delivered a warm welcome address and introduced the theme of the workshop.
Dr. Anjana Verma, Assistant Professor and Coordinator of Add-on Certificate and Diploma Courses, Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College presented a captivating video showcasing the benefits and opportunities offered by the add-on courses in hydroponics.
The main highlight of the workshop was the insightful presentation by Md Jawaid Alam, Coordinator of the Nature Club of India, Patna. With his extensive expertise in hydroponics, Mr. Alam provided valuable insights into various aspects of this innovative cultivating method. His comprehensive coverage of topics, ranging from the principles of hydroponics to practical implementation techniques, made the workshop both informative and engaging. He effectively addressed the insightful inquiries posed by the participants.
Dr. Urvashi Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College, proposed a heartfelt vote of thanks, acknowledging the contributions of all those involved in the event. The workshop was expertly moderated by Dr. Hena Naz, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College, ensuring a smooth and efficient flow of discussions. Dr. Piyush Kumar Rai, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany, Patna Women’s College, provided essential technical support, making sure the seamless functioning of the online platform.
