PWC Alumni Connect

The Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, organized a Guest Lecture by Dr. Reshma Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Shri Guru Gobind Singh College, Patliputra University, Patna, and Alumna (Batch 1996-1999) of Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College, on August 21, 2024, in MVEIC, Science Block, PWC.

The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the spark of knowledge and illumination of minds.

Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Head, Department of Zoology and Dean, Faculty of Science, welcomed the gathering and introduced the guest speaker. A plant sapling was presented to the distinguished guest as a token of love and gratitude by Dr. Neetu.

Dr. Shrivastava’s address was followed by a thought-provoking lecture by Dr. Reshma Sinha on the topic “THE EXCITING WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES THAT AWAITS ZOOLOGY GRADUATES.” She explored the scopes and lucrative career opportunities available to students after completing their Bachelors and Masters Degree in Zoology and in related specializations like Forestry, Veterinary Science, Toxicology, and Marine Science.

The guest lecture was followed by a question-answer session, where Dr. Sinha engaged with the students, addressing their queries and sharing her expertise.
The event was anchored by Ruqayya Fatima of Sem III, Department of Zoology. The vote of thanks was proposed by Shailja Gautam of Sem III, UG Zoology, expressing gratitude to Dr. Sinha for sharing her valuable insights and expertise.

Alumni Connect programme was the initiative of Prof Ameeta Jaiswal, Head, Department of Philosophy and President of Alumni Association of Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University.
All the teachers of the Department were present on the occasion.
The students exhibited remarkable enthusiasm. They came to know about various job opportunities in this field. The programme was a grand success.
