Statistics – Poster Making Competition 11 July 2024
The Department of Statistics organized a Poster Making Competition on July 11, 2024, on the occasion of World Population Day. The competition focused on three key themes:
1. Population and Sustainable Development
2. Leaving No One Behind, Count Everyone
3. Global Population Trends and Challenges
A total of 17 students from Semesters I, II, and III participated, showcasing their creativity and understanding of these important global issues through their posters. The event was judged by an esteemed panel, including Dr. Pinki Prasad, Head of the Department of Botany, and Dr. Aarti Kumari, Head of the Department of Biotechnology.

The Department of Statistics, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) observed Anti-Ragging Week from 12.08.2024 to 18.08.2024, by organizing various activities to educate Statistics Sem I students about the harmful effects of ragging.
On 12.08.2024, students were shown short films highlighting the importance of reporting ragging incidents to the college’s Anti-Ragging Committee rather than enduring them silently.
To further emphasize the gravity of ragging, all Statistics Sem I students were required to sign an Anti-Ragging Affidavit on 13.08.2024, pledging their commitment to a ragging-free environment and support for their juniors.
The week culminated in a Poster Making Competition on the theme “Anti Ragging” held on 16.08.2024. 7 groups of all semester Statistics students participated, creating 7 posters. The entries were evaluated by Dr. Urvashi Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany and Dr. Ravi Kumar, Head, Department of Mathematics.
