World Breast Feeding Promotion Week

August 1st 2024 is marked as the first day of World Breast Feeding Promotion Week at a global level to promote breast feeding and support lactating mothers. In order to commemorate this day, the Department of Home Science had organised an interactive session by an expert and alumna of the Department of Home Science, Dr. Khushboo Fatima in the B.J. Sullivan Hall at 11:00 a.m. on 01.08.2024. The program commenced by welcoming everyone. The students and faculty members of the Department of Home Science and Social Work were part of this session. Dr. Khushboo Fatima highlighted the importance and numerous benefits of breast feeding and how it helps in development of immune system of infants. The session turned out to be quite interactive as the students and the faculty members asked a number of questions on various aspects of breast feeding.
