Mother Veronica Development Foundation (MVDF) – 2017

Mother Veronica Development Foundation (MVDF) is committed to the idea of education devoted to founding a just, productive and cultured society. The aims and objectives, for which the foundation is established, are to undertake a wide range of activities for the advantage of equity and excellence in higher education.

Through Mother Veronica Development Foundation, Patna Women’s College works for the upliftment of socially and economically disadvantaged but meritorious students. Every year, 25 students from Part I, II, and III benefits from this project though there is provision for 50 students. They learn communication skills, I.T. skills, and self- employment skills. They are also given life skills to enhance their personality. Besides these skills, students are provided with a book bank facility, where they can get library books issued any time and keep the library books for the whole year.

Students who are needy are given an educational subsidy  Rs. 5000/- per year for three years based on their educational performance. Every year, 30 students benefit from this facility (10 students from each year). At the end of the 3rd year, students have an examination in communication skills and I.T. skills and are given certificates. They also get a certificate in self-employment skills, which help them to find a good job wherever they apply. Every year, the best MVDF student gets a merit certificate and a cash gift of Rs. 3000/-.

This year the students prepared files with Madhubani and Tikulia art; specially prepared for Teacher’s Day gift. The teachers were very happy and appreciated it very much. Besides the file, they also learned to make a number of other articles which are put for sale on their Valedictory function. This year all the students were given remuneration for the hard work they put in, to get ready the Teacher’s Day gift.
