The Department of Psychology, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University organised a Panel Discussion (online) on the topic ‘Understanding and Dealing with Narcissism’ in collaboration with Department of Psychology, St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad on 25.01.25 at 3.00 pm. This was an activity with MoU College. Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Psychiatry, IGIMS, Patna was the Keynote Speaker. Sir discussed the concept in detail, conceptualization, and dealing with it. Ms. Suhair Jamal, Head, Department of Psychology, St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad was the first speaker with the topic ‘Narcissistic Parents’. The high manipulative characteristics in parents, and dominance can disturb the healthy development of their child. On being adult, this person may be clueless as to what was wrong and would imbibe the same characteristics. Dr. Nupur Sinha, Assistant Professor and Head, Department of Psychology, Patna Women’s College was the second speaker with the topic ‘Narcissism and Digital Media’.
The programme started by welcoming the Principal, Patna Women’s College and the Principal, St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad. The programme was moderated by Dr. Medha, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychology, Patna Women’s College. Vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Leema, final year student, Department of Psychology, St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad. Around 140 participants from both the Colleges attended the programme.
