To celebrate Raksha Bandhan, the ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, Patna organized Rakhi Making by the students.
Many ECO Task Force Members and all the students of UG and PG of Department of Zoology participated enthusiastically in making the Rakhies in groups of five each.
To create awareness among the students and to give the message to save trees, the Rakhies were tied to the trees in the campus of Patna Women’s College.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr Sister M Stuti AC, Secretary ECO Task Force, PWC.
Teachers present on the occasion were Dr Shobha Shrivastava, Head, Dept of Zoology, Dr Sister M Stuti AC, Dr Sapna Kumari, Dr Anupma Kumari, Dr Neetu, Mr Rajeev, Dr Sugandh Priya and Sister Devshree, Assistant Professors of the Department of Zoology.

On the occasion of OzoneDay (16.09.2022), the ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College organized an Oath Taking Ceremony in which 500 students from B. Com, BBA, BCA, Economics, Geography, Psychology, Sociology, History, Political Science, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Statistics, Botany, MBIO and Zoology (UG and PG) Departments of the College were enrolled as the new members of the ECO Task Force.

The members were administered oath by the Principal, Dr. Sister M Rashmi A.C. The students pledged to protect Mother Earth and conserve the nature. She motivated the students to take their conservation task seriously and act together as a force for the betterment of our rural and urban areas as well.
Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Head, Department of Zoology and Vice President, ECO Task Force, told the new members that the ECO Task Force is a student body of the College, working for the environment since 5th June, 1992. She told that it is the duty of every individual to protect mother earth since we all depend on nature and earth for water, air, food, protection and for everything we require. Due to our own activities, we are degrading our environment. So we should become wise, protect ourselves and prevent ourselves from being perished by protecting the environment. She advised the students to practice ‘3 R’ (Reduce, Reuse and Recycle) for the protection of the environment. She also told them to have a positive attitude for everything and create a positive atmosphere. She appreciated the students for participating in the programme in such large numbers and becoming the members of the ECO Task Force.

A Nukkad Natak Competition on the theme Global Cooperation for Protecting life on Earth was also organized on the occasion in which 06 groups, having 15 members each, from the Department of Zoology, participated.

The teachers present on the occasion were Dr Sapna Kumari, Dr Anupma Kumari, Dr Neetu, Dr Sumeet Ranjan, Mr Rajeev Ranjan, Dr Sugandha Priya and Sister Devashree. The support staffs Ms Marcel, Mr Denis, Mr Telespore and Mr Shyam Bihari were also present.

Dengue Awareness and Prevention Programme in Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, PU :

The Department of Zoology and ECO Task Force of Patna Women’s College is organizing A Five Days Dengue Prevention and Awareness Programme from 10.11.2022 to 18.11. 2022 to spread awareness regarding Dengue Prevention.

On the 5th day of the Programme (18.11.2022) a Dengue Awareness Programme was organized in Lodipur slum area, Patna in which students of UG and PG of Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, took part. They performed the Nukkad Nataks explaining the causes, effects and methods for prevention of Dengue and importance of cleanliness for healthy life. Posters and Slogans regarding Dengue prevention were also displayed on the venue.
Hundreds of local people and children of Lodipur slum area gathered to see the programme and participated actively.

The Dengue Awareness Programme was conducted under the supervision of teachers of the Department of Zoology, Dr. Sister Stuti AC, Dr. Anupma Kumari, Dr Neetu and Dr Sumeet Ranjan.

On the occasion of World Sparrow Day (20.03.2023), the ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, Patna, organized A Short Video Making Competitions on the Theme: Saving the Sparrow in the Department of Zoology, PWC, to create awareness among the students about the conservation of Sparrow.
It was a group event and each group contained 2 to 3 students.
A total of 27 groups (68 students) of different Semesters of Department of Zoology (both UG and PG) participated in this competition. The students prepared their videos and highlighted different aspects of Sparrow conservation.
