Online workshop organised by the department of Fashion Designing
2019
Three days workshop in collaboration with Pidilite Industries Ltd was held in the Department of Fashion Designing on 11th, 13th and 14th September, 2019.
Mr. Nikhil Mathur, Regional Sales Manager, Pidilite Industries Ltd was the chief guest. Ms. Anuja Sinha was the resource person of the workshop. Mr. Bhaskar Dutta, Branch Manager, Sales, Mr. Santosh Sinha, Area Manager & Mr. Rahul Mishra, Marketing Development Incharge, Pidilite Co. also visited the workshop.
Add-On Certificate course in Textile Ornamentation and Home Fashion
PROGRAMME OUTCOMES ( POs )
Students of TOHF certificate course will be able to –
- Apply the knowledge of different elements and principles of designing in the context of employability.
- Enhance designing ability through:-
- Use of traditional and modern tools to create new designs.
- Learning the context of technological change.
- Gain knowledge of both :-
- Creativity and business of interior decoration.
- Students will be able to solve the issues related to creation of new style and decorate the given area.
- To identify, analyze and reach conclusion for any problem related to design and style.
- Ability to develop value-based team work capacity.
PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)
This one year certificate course in textile ornamentation and home fashion is especially designed to cater to the following need of the students-
- Employability – Our students has the flexibility to choose from different and varied areas of employment. They can become an interior decorator. They can also work for craft center, textile units, emporium etc. They can also work with interior designers or open their own hand printing and hand embroidery units.
- Holistic development – This course helps the student towards development of the overall personality through activities such as organization of workshops, training programme, exhibitions, project field work and participation in other teamwork activities.
- Analytical Skill :- Ability to design and analyze latest styles and fashion trends incorporated with as well as traditional essence. Project work also helps them to analyze the subject matters and reach informed conclusions.
- Revival of art forms – The project helps in revival of vanishing art and craft forms.
- Social responsibility – Upliftment of poor artisans and disadvantageous sections of the society by imparting skills and techniques to them for their economic independence in a better way.
Course Outcomes
After the completion of this course the students will be able to –

- To introduce the basic concept of textile designing and able to work in textile units.
- Practical application and knowledge of elements of design.
- To impart a basic knowledge about principles of design.
- To provide practical training and knowledge of textile materials, especially furnishing items.
- To provide practical training and knowledge of kitchen utility items related to textile.
Course Objectives
After the completion of this course the students will be able to –
- To impart skills in designing and enriching fabrics to enhance the interiors of home.
- To spread the skills learnt and generate employment to the weaker section of the society in the process of production of goods.
- To review the fading art and crafts and present it in a new prospective, especially of Bihar.

Srijan Club: (Art and Craft club) is to establish itself as a premier Art and Craft platform that fosters creativity, innovation and artistic expression among college students, there by empowering creativity, through art and craft, our aim to empower creative expression and enrich lives. Patna Women’s College strives to establish itself as a vibrant hub of artistic innovation that fosters creativity, self-expression and cultural enrichment among students while promoting social responsibility and community engagement through Srijan Club.

Our mission is to inspire artistic excellence by providing a platform for students to explore, learn and showcase their artistic talents, encourage creativity, confidence and community engagement while promoting cultural enrichment and social responsibility, as we provide opportunities for artistic expression and skill development, foster creativity, confidence and self-expression, promote cultural diversity and appreciation, encourage community engagement and social responsibility and develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Srijan Club, a vibrant and creative arm of Patna Women’s College, is dedicated to nurturing the artistic talents and innovative spirits of its students. The club serves as a dynamic platform where students can explore their passions, experiment with novel ideas and showcase their skills in various art forms, including fashion designing, painting and crafts works. With a strong emphasis on holistic development, Srijan Club encourages its members to think creatively, collaborate effectively and develop their problem-solving abilities. By fostering a culture of innovation and artistic expression, the club aims to empower students to become confident, creative and socially responsible individuals. Srijan club was started by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College on 09.08.2024. The aim of the club is to impart skills to students in order to create sustainable products through different artistic medium and techniques under the guidance of Srijan Club incharge Dr. Geetanjali Choudhary. The club encourages students to achieve knowledge about the varied rich traditional art and crafts of India. The knowledge and skill learnt is applied to create different home utility, decorative items and different college activity.
