Placement and Career Counselling Cell
Placement and Career Counselling Cell of Patna Women’s College was formally inaugurated in 2010, although placement activities in the College have taken place regularly since 2004. The Placement Cell of the college has been conducting campus recruitment drives in which reputed multinational companies like IBM, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Star TV, Concentrix, etc. have participated and hired the students of the college. In the year 2009, the placement cell was awarded for highest joining in India by IBM Daksh.
The Placement and Career Counselling Cell also organizes pre-placement training programmers and interactive sessions by industry experts to prepare students for placement.

PLACEMENT DRIVE WITH CIMAGE GROUP OF INSTITUTES
The Placement and Career Counselling Cell of Patna Women’s College organised a Campus Placement Drive in collaboration with Cimage Group of Institutions on 30th March 2026 at B. J. Sullivan Hall for UG Semester 6 and PG Semester 4 students. The event included insightful sessions by industry experts and interactions with content creators, providing exposure to emerging career paths. Personal interviews were conducted across multiple panels for roles in Digital Marketing, HR, Academic Support, and Technical Services, with around 70 students participating and gaining valuable recruitment experience. The programme was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Alok John. The entire placement drive was coordinated by Mr. Gautam Saurabh, with active support from Placement Cell members Dr. Satyam Kumar and Mr. Adweetiya Sinha.


CAMPUS PLACEMENT DRIVE WITH VATS CREATIVE DIGITAL SOLUTION
The Placement & Career Counselling Cell of Patna Women’s College successfully organized a Campus Placement Drive on 23rd March 2026 at B.J. Sullivan Hall in collaboration with Creator’s Mind and Vats Creative Digital Solutions Pvt. Ltd. Students of UG Sem 6 & PG Sem 4 participated enthusiastically and appeared for interviews for roles such as Sales Consultant, HR Executive, Script Writer, Video Creator, Graphic Designer, Video Editor, Technical Head (App Development), and Government Order Specialist. Out of 45 students, 20 were selected for the final round. The drive provided valuable industry exposure and an opportunity for students to interact directly with professionals and understand corporate expectations. The event was coordinated by Mr. Gautam Saurabh, Mr. Adweetiya Sinha, and Dr. Satyam Kumar under the guidance of Mr. Alok John, with moderation by Anushka Deo and vote of thanks by Jagriti Kumari. The event concluded successfully with active participation and positive engagement from all.

WORKSHOP UNDER PRADHAN MANTRI UCHCHATAR SHIKSHA ABHIYAN – INVIGORATE 3.0
The Placement and Career Counselling Cell of Patna Women’s College successfully organised an insightful workshop on “Interviews, Group Discussions and Employability” under the Gender Inclusion and Equity Initiatives of Pradhan Mantri Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan. The workshop commenced with a warm welcome address by Soumya Vartika, Joint General Secretary, Student Council (2025–2026), who highlighted the significance of equipping students with essential professional skills beyond academic knowledge. She emphasised the importance of communication, confidence, and critical thinking in today’s competitive job market. The event featured distinguished speakers from Quad AI School of Technology & Management. Ms. Akanksha, a Personality Development and Communication Coach, conducted an engaging session focusing on business communication, personality development, and workplace readiness. Drawing from her extensive experience in Human Resources, she guided students through practical exercises aimed at building confidence, presentation skills, and professional etiquette. She was felicitated by Mr. Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaborations and Consultancy Services. Ms. Ayushi, Career Coach and Training and Placement Officer, addressed students on career preparedness, resume building, and interview strategies. She emphasised bridging the gap between academic learning and industry expectations while fostering essential skills such as problem-solving, communication, and clarity in career goals. She was welcomed by Mr. Adweetiya Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science. The workshop’s first session on Group Discussions provided participants with practical insights into effective participation, teamwork, and articulation of ideas in professional settings. The second session featured Ms. Ridhima Srivastava, a social entrepreneur and founder of WEAVEHAND. Through her inspiring talk, she shed light on her mission to empower artisans by creating sustainable livelihoods and preserving India’s rich craft heritage. Her work focuses on connecting rural artisan communities, particularly in Bihar, with broader markets while promoting cultural sustainability. She was felicitated by Mr. Gautam Saurabh, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The workshop concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Anushka Deo, Joint General Secretary, Student Council (2025–2026), who expressed gratitude to the speakers, faculty members, and participants for making the event a success. The event proved to be highly enriching, equipping students with practical knowledge and confidence to navigate professional challenges and career opportunities effectively.

SEMINAR OF RELIANCE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP
On 23rd September 2025, the Placement and Career Counselling Cell, Patna Women’s College, in collaboration with Reliance Foundation, organized a seminar on the Reliance Foundation Undergraduate Scholarships 2025–2026 for the students of Semester I (UG) in Carmel Hall. The session commenced with an address by Mr. Sachin Singh, Operational Associate, Reliance Foundation, who elaborated on the eligibility criteria and application procedure for the scholarship programme. He also interacted with the students, addressing their queries and clarifying various aspects of the application process. The seminar was efficiently coordinated and managed by Mr. Alok John, Dean, National and International Collaboration and Consultancy Services, Patna Women’s College, along with the Coordinators of the Placement and Career Counselling Cell—Mr. Gautam Saurabh, Mr. Rajeev Ranjan, and Mr. Adweetiya Sinha. The event was moderated by Ms. Sakshi Palak (B.Com, Semester V), while the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Ms. Aditi Singh (Political Science, Semester V). The seminar proved to be highly informative and insightful, providing students with a clear understanding of the scholarship programme and its benefits


AWARENESS SESSION ON BECIL INDUSTRY
The Placement and Career Counselling cell, Patna Women’s College in collaboration with BECIL organized an Awareness Session on BECIL Industry-Certified Courses on 15th September 2025. Mr. Pramod Kumar, Senior Manager, BECIL, was the Resource Person for the session. His session focused on industry-relevant, skill-based courses designed by BECIL to bridge the gap between academics and industry. The curriculum emphasized on real-world applications, hands-on training by experts, and placement-oriented opportunities, equipping students with future-ready skills. The session was attended by first-year students of BCA, Data Science, and AI & ML, who gained valuable insights into emerging technologies and industry-ready career pathways. The event was conducted under the guidance of Mr. Alok John, Dean, National and International Collaborations and Consultancy Services, and Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College. The event was moderated by Soumya Vartika, Joint General Secretary, Student Council 2025–26 and concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Rajnandini Singh, Cultural Secretary, Student Council 2025–26.

PLACEMENT TALK ON GOVERNMENT SCHEME FOR INTERNSHIP AND PLACEMENT
The Placement and Career Counselling Cell, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), in collaboration with the Counselling, Training and Placement Cell, Patna University, organized a seminar facilitated by the Labour Resources Department, Government of Bihar. The session began with a welcome address by Mr. Alok John, Dean – National, International Collaborations and Consultancy Services, Patna Women’s College. This was followed by a scholarly address by Prof. S. B. Lal, Dean, PG Department of Commerce, Patna University, and Professor In-charge, Placement Cell, Patna University. Dr. Bhavuk Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Geology, Patna University, and Assistant In-charge, Placement Cell, Patna University, highlighted various government schemes for internships and placements. Ms. Anjali Kumari, Labour Employment Officer, Government of Bihar, also shared insights on state-level schemes and employment opportunities.


PLACEMENT DRIVE UNDER TRANSFORMATIVE INDIA INITIATIVE
On May 13, 2025, Patna Women’s College hosted a transformative placement drive under the Transforming India Initiative. This program was coordinated by Mr. Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaborations and Consultancy Services, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) and Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Assistant Professor in the Department of Zoology. The orientation and briefing session, along with the interviews, were conducted by Mr. G.V. Krishnagopal, CEO and distinguished social entrepreneur, who is also an alumnus of IRMA Gujarat.The selection process comprised a written test followed by interviews, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their skills and secure promising career prospects. This initiative aligns with Patna Women’s College’s commitment to empowering women through education and facilitating their entry into the professional world.

PLACEMENT DRIVE WITH AFFINITY EDUCATION PVT LTD
The Placement and Career Counselling Cell of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, successfully conducted a Placement Drive on April 28, 2025, at the Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre. The event, led by the Placement and Career Counselling Cell, was organized to provide students with valuable employment opportunities by facilitating direct engagement with leading industry professionals. The recruitment panel featured distinguished professionals such as Mr. Vikrant Kumar Singh (HOD, Affinity Education Pvt Ltd), Ms. Anju Kumari (Senior Manager), and Ms. Priya Mishra (Manager), who contributed their expertise throughout the recruitment process. The drive was coordinated by Mr. Alok John, Dean of National and International Collaborations and Consultancy Services at Patna Women’s College. Dr. Shazia Rahman, Head of the Department of AMM, welcomed and introduced the guests. The event was smoothly executed by committed members of the Placement Committee, including Dr. Sumeet Ranjan (Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology) and Ms. Nushrat Sohail (Assistant Professor, Department of AMM). The placement drive focused on overseas education sector jobs. The selection process involved in-depth personal interviews, allowing students to present their competencies and align with suitable career prospects. Out of the 29 students who participated, 10 were shortlisted for the final HR interview round.


PLACEMENT DRIVE WITH CIMAGE GROUP OF INSTITUTES
Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, in collaboration with the CIMAGE Group of Institutions, organized a successful Placement Drive on April 17, 2025, at the Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre. Spearheaded by the Placement and Career Counselling Cell, this initiative aimed to create meaningful employment opportunities for students by connecting them with industry leaders. The esteemed panel of recruiters included Dr. Neeraj Agarwal (Director, CIMAGE Group of Institutions), Mrs. Megha Agarwal (Academic Coordinator, CIMAGE Group), and Dr. Neeraj Poddar (Dean, CIMAGE Group), who brought their insights and expertise to the recruitment process. This impactful event was coordinated by Prof. Alok John, Dean – National and International Collaborations and Consultancy Services, Patna Women’s College. It was efficiently managed by the dedicated members of the Placement Core Committee—Dr. Sumeet Ranjan (Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology), Mr. Adweetiya Sinha (Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science), Dr. Rajeev Ranjan (Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology), and Mr. Gautam Saurabh (Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce). The drive offered career opportunities in cutting-edge and high-demand domains such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), ERP Development, Accounts and Finance, Human Resources, Digital Marketing, Academics and Teaching, Research, Social Media Management, and Blogging. The attractive salary package ranged between ₹25,000 and ₹45,000 per month (in-hand), along with additional perks and benefits. The selection process involved rigorous personal and final interviews, providing the candidates a platform to showcase their skills and align with their desired career paths.
A total of 103 students participated enthusiastically, demonstrating their preparedness, passion, and professionalism. The event was gracefully moderated by Mahrukh Firdaus, Premier of the Student Council 2025–26, while the Vote of Thanks was delivered by Nikita Anand, Vice-Premier of the Student Council 2025–26.

TWO DAYS WORKSHOP ON INVIGORATE 2.0
The Placement and Career Counselling Cell of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University organized a two-day workshop, Invigorate 2.0 from March 24, 2025 to March 25, 2025 for the outgoing students of Semester- VI, UG and Semester- IV, PG. The workshop was designed to equip students with essential career-building skills, focusing on professional documents like CVs and resumes and the role of LinkedIn in career growth. On March 24, 2025, Dr. Sahar Rahman, Associate Professor and Head, Department of English, and Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Dean, Faculty of Information Technology, guided students on crafting structured CVs using AI, understanding key differences between CVs and resumes, and optimizing LinkedIn profiles for better career opportunities. Dr. Rahman emphasized that a well-structured CV serves as a professional identity. On March 25, 2025, Mr. Alok John, Dean of NICCS, provided insights into interview preparation, including researching company values, strengthening LinkedIn visibility, using software for interview planning for structured responses, and the impact of body language and professional attire. Dr. Soofia Fatima, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, conducted a session on communication skills, covering the 7Cs of communication, vocabulary and pronunciation enhancement, and the use of AI tools to refine language skills. She also shared best practices for formal communication, stressing the importance of avoiding repetition, maintaining a personal dictionary, and adapting to digital communication trends. Mr. Adweetiya Sinha, Asst. Professor, Department of Political Science, guided the students on identification and development of essential soft skills with interactive exercises and real-life examples. He also provided an emphasis on communication, team-work and time management.
On the first day, the session was moderated by Sania and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mantasha of Semester-2. On the second day, the session was moderated by Muskan and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Adrita.

PLACEMENT DRIVE WITH BYJU’S ON 08-07-2024
Placement Drive in collaboration with BYJU’S – The Learning App was held on July 8th, 2024, which was organized by the Placement and Career Counselling Cell in the Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University. This incredible opportunity was coordinated by Mr. Alok John, Dean – National, International Collaborations, and Consultancy Services. The entire event was conducted under the guidance and supervision of esteemed members of the Placement Core Committee – Mr. Adweetiya Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science; Dr. Rajeev Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Department of Zoology; and Mr. Gautam Saurabh, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce. The event offered students a chance to explore promising career prospects and take the first step towards achieving their professional aspirations. The placement was conducted for the job profile of Customer Relationship Associate with an annual salary package of 4 Lakh. The selection process involved personal interviews and final interview, providing students with a comprehensive assessment of their skills and suitability for various roles. The event saw an active participation of 22 students. We extend our best wishes to all students who participated in the placement drive and commend their dedication and enthusiasm. Placement & Career Counselling Cell, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) organized a placement drive on 31st July 2023 in collaboration with SBI Life. In the beginning of the program, Mr. Debasis Sahu, AVP- HR, SBI Life addressed the students and discussed the issues related to business, marketing, product management and SBI Life. He acquainted the students with the 10 branches of SBI Life and the students who will be selected under them. After that, he emphasized on the various aspects of college and corporate life. Thereafter, Mr. Alok John, Placement Coordinator, Placement & Career Counselling Cell, Patna Women’s College appreciated the students for joining this placement drive, praised them and wished them luck and also asked them to always stay honest towards their work. Mr. Satish Anand, who is also a Josh Talks Speaker, International Author and Soft Skills Trainer, addressed the students of MCA-IIIrd and Ist semester. He gave information about Career Labs which is a Higher Education Partner of AICTE and one of the fastest growing start-ups.
The offer letter was given to the final selected 16 students based on their performance in the Discoveri Assessment conducted today. Consequently, they are required to undergo the
10-months intense SkillAssure Internship Program by CareerLabs, in which 6-months will be Online training and 4-months of Offline training after which they will be hired as a full-time employee of Pratian Technologies Pvt Ltd., headquartered in Pratian Innovation Campus, Bengaluru or Noida.
Post successful completion of the CareerLabs SkillAssure Internship Program, they will be hired on the payrolls of Pratian Technologies Pvt. Ltd. and will be offered the position of “Software Engineer”. They will be paid an overall annual compensation of INR 3,50,000 (Three Lakhs Fifty Thousand Indian Rupees only).
On 05th January 2023, The Mother Veronica Excellence & Innovation Centre MVEIC, Patna Women’s College organized Prarambh : A Lecture Series for Students Career Development. The sessions were conducted in two slots.
The topic for the first slot was “Data Analytics as a Career Option”. The resource person for the first slot were Dr. Tanushree Biswas, Assistant Professor, Quantitative Methods, Xavier’s Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata and Dr. Tuhin Utsab Paul, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata.
The programme started with the welcome address by Professor Alok John, Director, Mother Veronica Excellence & Innovation Centre MVEIC and Dean, National, International Collaboration and Consultancy Services.
Tanushree Biswas, Assistant Professor, Quantitative Methods, Xavier’s Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata, started the session on the topic “Data Analytics as a Career Option”. She explained that Data analytics is a fast-paced, challenging career centered on problem-solving and thinking outside of the box. As a data analyst, one has to work with a number of different teams who require good skills and knowledge to provide everyone with insights into how they can improve their processes. Thereafter, Dr. Tuhin Utsab Paul, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Computer Science, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata spoke about the Data science which is an interdisciplinary academic field that uses statistics, scientific computing, scientific methods, processes, algorithms and systems to extract or extrapolate knowledge and insights from noisy, structured and unstructured data.
The resource person for the second session was Dr. Sitangshu Khatua, Associate Professor, Finance, Xavier’s Business School, St. Xavier’s University, Kolkata. The topic for the session was Know Thyself : An Interdisciplinary Approach to Knowing Oneself and Thinking Out of Box” He started the session by explaining the meaning of Interdisciplinary learning which empowers the students to explore different perspectives and views. The whole session was interactive as the students took active participation in the various mind-stretching brain games. The whole lecture series was moderated by Nishtha Vatsa, Vice-Premier, Students Council, 2022-23.
PRARAMBH: Lecture Series for Students Career Development on Prospects of Management Education: Campus to Corporate.
On 14th December, 2022, The Mother Veronica Excellence & Innovation Centre (MVEIC), Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) organized the 2nd lecture under the ambit of PRARAMBH: Lecture Series for Students Career Development.
The session was aimed towards the topic “Prospects of Management Education: Campus to Corporate.” The programme started with the welcome address by Professor Alok John, Director, Mother Veronica Excellence & Innovation Centre MVEIC and Dean, National, International Collaboration and Consultancy Services.
The Esteemed Speaker for the day was Dr. Father Manoj D’Souza S.J., Director, St. Joseph’s Institute of Management, Bangalore. He started the session with introducing the topic of Prospects of Management Education and how management education is increasingly becoming important and playing a central role in the success of managers and organizations worldwide. He then explained the journey of a student from campus to a corporate world through a Power-point Presentation. Further, he also explained the difference between the traits of a student and the dynamic traits of an employee and how a transition from a student to an employee takes place. He also gave some tips on how to anticipate and articulate in Interviews. Towards the end of the session, he threw some lights on the examples of non-academic question to boost the communication skills from the interviewer point of view.
The session was interactive as students took keen participation by asking questions. The lecture series was moderated by Paridhi Sinha, 3rd year Student of Department of Business Administration, Patna Women’s College. The programme was coordinated by Students’ Council Members, Riya Ranjan Singh, Kajal Kumari and Aditi Kumari.

A campus recruitment and placement drive was organised by the Placement and Career Counselling Cell in collaboration with the Department of Mass Communication, Patna Women’s College on Friday by ABP Network.
The session began by the address of Dean, National, International Collaborations and Consultancy Services (NICCS), Alok John, who welcomed and extended his gratitude to the team of ABP Network for choosing the college for the recruitment drive.
Addressing the students, Senior Editor of ABP News, Mr. Prakash Kumar said that the students should not dwell in the past and anticipate the future to be confident. He also gave tips to the students for being free from camera consciousness and said that expressions and choice of words are the most important while speaking on camera.
A total of 60 students participated from various departments of the college. The placement test had a written test followed by a Piece to Camera (PTC) for which the results are awaited.
The students had to record a one- minute video for the PTC after the written test. Dr. Debjani Sarkar, Head, Department of Geography, Ms. Roma, Head, Department of Mass Communication, Assistant Professors, Mr. Ajay Kumar Jha, Mr. Gaurav Aranya and Ms. Ankita were present throughout the campus recruitment.

Campus Recruitment Drive in association with Chandragupt Institute of Management Patna

Mother Veronica Excellence & Innovation Centre (MVEIC), Patna Women’s College in collaboration with Student Council 2022, Patna Women’s College organized PRARAMBH: A Lecture Series of Student Career Development on the topic “Skills Required to Succeed in Corporate Life – Data Fluency” on 10.09.2022.Esteemed Speaker for the day was Dr. Sayantani Roy Choudhury, Associate Professor, Praxis Business School, Kolkata. The program started with the welcome address by Professor Alok John, Dean, National, International Collaboration and Consultancy Services (NICCS), Patna Women’s College. Dr. Sayantani Roy Choudhary stressed on the importance of data fluency and its use in corporate life. She also told the students the right way to approach towards the right decision and guided the students towards the path of success. Towards the end of the session, she said that the world’s most valuable resource is no longer oil, but data”.
A Two day session on Mindful Career Planning was organised by Patna Women’s College on 2.8.2022 and 3.8.2022 by Ms.Shreya Shivangi, International Certified: Executive Coach,Life Coach ,Sucess Coach, and an Alumna of Dept of AMM , Patna Women’s College.She has 15years of experience in India and Singapore . She has won Asia Women Leader Award in 2021.The session was organised for Sem V students of Arts, Science,Commerce and Vocationals.The session was focused on Career Planning and how students can develop clear vision regarding selecting their career and not to limit their choices.
A Placement drive was conducted in the MCA department, Patna Women’s College by Polytropic Services Pvt. Ltd., for the post of Web Developer on 7th and 12th of March 2022. On 7th of March, the first round of aptitude test and one to one interview was conducted and 9 out of 23 students were selected for the next technical round. The technical round was conducted on 12.3.2022. 4 students out of 9 were finally selected. These students will join as a web developer at the package of 3LPA.
Campus Recruitment Drive was conducted in the department of MCA by Open Growth Academy on 17.11.21. 3 students were selected.
Placement and Career Counselling of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) organised a Pre- -Placement training programme for the students of BBA and AMM, fifth semester on 30/10/2021 at 1 pm in the Carmel Hall. The resource person for the session was Ms. Sangeeta Gadhok Magan, trainer, author, mentor and Professor at NIDM, New Delhi. The topic of the training session was ‘Prepare to ace an interview’. It was followed by an interactive session in which students participated enthusiastically. The session was attended by Dr. Debjani Sarkar, Dr. Sahar Rahman, Mr. Alok John, Ms. Nusrath Sohail and Ms. Meenakshi Mishra of the Placement Committee of the college.
