- Established in 1966
- BA and M.A. Applied Psychology Programmes and Value Added Add-on Courses in Stress Managment
- Qualified teaching faculty in the Department
- Focus on the skill enhancement of students
- Educational tour for the students to mental hospitals is conducted
- Hands-on training sessions, workshops, internships, and Research projects are performed
- Psychiatrists/Counselors/Resource persons are invited for lectures and interactions
- Regular talks are conducted related to psychological issues by internal and external resource persons
- Through the Mentor System, the Department offers help and guidance for personal and educational problems of students
- Parent-Teacher Meet are held regularly to help in personality development
- Guidance and Counselling Centre functions with the Department
- A full-time counselor is available in the Guidance and Counseling Center
- Students from all Departments of Patna Women’s College come for guidance and counseling. They are counseled to face their day-to-day problems.
- The Department emphasises the importance of various important events at the Global and National levels, like the World Mental Health Week
- Events like presentations, Exhibitions, and awareness programmes are regularly conducted
- Teachers also engage in Faculty Development Programmes to enhance their knowledge to support the students
