An awareness generation session
On February 8,2025, the Department of Social Work of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University, conducted an awareness generation session on various government schemes and programs for adolescents. The session was conducted in Patna Mahila Ayog Slum, under the Service-Learning Project. Service-learning integrates academic knowledge with community service, allowing students to apply their classroom learning to real-world challenges. Through this initiative, students engaged directly with the community, developed problem-solving skills, and gained first-hand experience in social work interventions. The adolescents of the slum were informed about various programs like Aayushman Bharat, SABLA, KSY, Bihar Kishori Balika Yojna, etc. The focus was on raising awareness about these schemes and their potential benefits, empowering the adolescents with knowledge that could enhance their well-being and future prospects. The service-learning project was supervised by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head, Department of Social work and Sister Sanjana A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work.
