An industrial visit
An industrial visit was organized by the Department of Economics for 1st year students to Upendra Maharathi Shilp Anusandhan Sansthan Patna. This visit was organized as a part of experiential learning under the Skill Enhancement Course. The students were warmly welcomed by Dr. Isfak Khan, Curator, Upendra Maharathi Shilp Anusandhan Sansthan. Students were accompanied by faculty members, Ms. Kamaljeet Kaur and Dr. Swastika Satyam.
The visit began with an exhibit of collection of art and craft of Bihar like stone and wood carvings, Madhubani paintings , Tikuli art and many more. Dr. Isfak Khan highlighted the continuous working of the institute for the growth and development of the craft sector and craftsmen. He emphasized that the institute also provides opportunity to craftsmen and students to visit here and get trained under the guidance of skilled craftsmen, especially for women.
The institute provides training to students and some stipend is also paid to them to promote their participation.The visit provided exposure to the students and encouraged them to develop new skills.
