The Department of English, Patna Women’s College, organized an interactive session under the PWC Alumni Connect programme on 11th March, 2025. The session featured alumna Jyotsana Jha (Batch 2022-2024), who recently cleared the NET JRF examination and is now a research scholar at Lucknow University.
During the session, Ms. Jyotsana provided guidelines on preparing for the NET JRF examination, detailing her study strategies, resources, and time management techniques. She shared her experiences, and the story of success as well as failures, which served as a lesson for the students about consistency and determination. Additionally, she discussed the process of writing a good PhD research proposal, offering practical advice on structuring and presenting a strong research plan.
Since Ms. Jyotsana was a peer of the students, they felt comfortable engaging with her, leading to an open and interactive discussion. The session was highly informative and motivational, equipping students with clarity and confidence regarding their academic and research pursuits.
The session was very helpful and encouraging, especially as a number of MA final-year as well as first-year students will soon be appearing for the NET examination. The students showed keen interest and made the most of this opportunity by actively asking questions related to both practical and personal aspects of the examination and research journey.
