App Development Competition 2025
The Celebration of Vigyan Utsav 2025 was successfully organized by the Faculty of Science at Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) on the occasion of National Science Day.
Among the different events, the event Appify: App Development Competition with the theme “Technology for Sustainable Development” was jointly organised by the Departments of Computer Applications(BCA), Data Science and Analytics and AI&ML.
The programme was an inter-college competition that witnessed enthusiastic participation from various institutions. The objective of the event was to provide a platform for young minds to showcase their innovative ideas and promoting the importance of technology in sustainable development.
The event commenced with a heartfelt prayer song to seek the blessings of the Almighty to set a positive and spiritual tone for the day’s proceedings.
The welcome address was delivered by Ms. Manisha Prasad, Co-Convenor and Head of the Department of Computer Applications (BCA). Ms. Prasad extended a warm welcome to all participants, judges, and guests, expressing gratitude for their presence and emphasizing the importance of the event’s theme.
The panel of judges for the competition included:
- Ms. Sonam Kumari, Chief Technical Officer, Aztech Technology, Patna
- Mr. Praveen Kumar, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science and Applications (MCA).
- Ms. Tauseef Hassan, HoD, Department of CEMS.
Their expertise and presence were highly appreciated by all attendees.
14 teams registered for the event from different colleges of Patna. Participants presented their innovative apps focusing on the theme of “Technology for Sustainable Development.” Each team showcased their unique ideas and solutions, demonstrating their technical skills and creativity. The competition was keenly contested, and the presentations were met with great enthusiasm.
After all the teams had presented their apps, the judges provided valuable feedback, highlighting the strengths and areas for improvement for each presentation. Their constructive insights were greatly appreciated by the participants.
The winners were recognized for their outstanding contributions and received certificates and accolades from the judges.
- The first prize was bagged by Ms. Sonam Kumari and Ms. Anjali Anand of MCA, PWC.
- The winner of the second prize was Ms. Shiwani Kumari and Ms. Shivani Kumari of BCA, PWC.
- The third prize was bagged by Ms. Shreya Gupta and Ms. Muskan Shekhar of BCA, PWC.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Hera Shaheen, Assistant Professor, Department of AI and ML. All the faculty members and students of the departments were present on this occasion.
The anchoring of the event was done by Dr. Priyadarshini, Head, Department of Data Science and Analytics
