Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, proudly celebrated “World Environment Day,” on 5th June, 2022. On this occasion, Patna Women’s College proudly inaugurated its Student’s Environment Club “SRISHTI”, at 10 am in the Carmel Hall. This club is a group of concern students and teachers that are committed to raising awareness about environmental issues, and to reduce environmental impact.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Debjani Sarkar Ghosh, Head, Department of Geography. On the occasion of World Environment Day, she gave her warm wishes to everyone. Later, she appreciated the inauguration of the Srishti Club, through which the students will actively participate and contribute to Mother Earth. Dr. Amrita Choudhary, Esteemed Coordinator of IQAC, conducted the pledge of ‘Srishti’, which was enthusiastically taken up by the members of the Srishti Club. Sister Anna, Assistant Professor Department of Geography, and Tuhina Ghoshal, along with the choir presented Srishti Club Anthem, ‘Shrishti ki Pookar’. Cultural coordinator, Ms. Enakshi Dey Biswas and Miss Samiksha Sinha, Assistant Professor Department of Sociology, coordinated the event with utmost dedication, which made the event a success. On the occasion of World Environment Day, air purifier saplings were planted by Members of the Club, a small contribution towards Mother Earth.

The programme concluded with an interactive session with the registered members of the Environment Club, where the members came with various queries, suggestions and recommendation regarding the conservation of nature. The whole event was moderated by Nishtha Vatsa, Vice Premier. Vote of Thanks was then proposed by Shambhavi Kashyap, Premier, where she specially thanked the Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., and Vice Principal, Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C. for giving the opportunity and conceptualising the idea to initiate the Environment Club.
