On 6th May 2025, The NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), under Patna University, hosted an inspiring and insightful virtual session titled “My Bharat Outreach and NSS Orientation Programme. The two resource persons- Mr. Deepak Mandal, Youth Asst., NSS Regional Directorate, Patna & Mr. Ankit Kumar Pathak, Young Professional, NSS Regional Directorate, Patna was invited for this orientation Programme. This impactful event centered around youth empowerment, civil responsibility, and the transformative potential of national service in realizing the vision of a Viksit Bharat.
The session commenced with warmth and enthusiasm as Khushi Raj, a spirited NSS volunteer, took on the role of anchor. With eloquence and grace, she set the tone for the day by highlighting the essence of My Bharat Portal—a vibrant digital platform dedicated to mobilizing and empowering the youth of India.
The gathering paid heartfelt homage to Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal of Patna Women’s College (in absentia), whose enduring vision and leadership remain a guiding light for every NSS endeavor. The Welcome Address was delivered by Dr. Brahma Nand, NSS Coordinator, Unit 1, and Assistant Professor, Department of Hindi, Patna Women’s College, P.U. In his enriching remarks, he emphasized the pivotal role of young citizens in the nation-building process, and introduced the resource persons whose insights would illuminate the session.
The first resource person, Mr. Deepak Mandal, was invited to share his perspectives. His address was both energizing and thought-provoking, as he elaborated on how the My Bharat Portal serves as a gateway for youth participation in nation-building through collaboration, innovation, and service. His words sparked a sense of purpose, urging students to step into leadership roles with confidence and commitment. Following his empowering session, heartfelt thanks were extended to Mr. Mandal for his valuable contributions.
The session then progressed with the invitation to Mr. Ankit Kumar Pathak, the second distinguished resource person of the day. With clarity and passion, Mr. Pathak delved into the framework of Viksit Bharat, inspiring students to take active roles in India’s development journey. He enlightening us with the true spirit of NSS, digital empowerment & national building through the My Bharat Portal.
After both addresses, the platform was opened to NSS volunteers for a dynamic interaction with the speakers. The Q&A segment allowed students to voice their thoughts, pose meaningful questions, and engage in dialogue that further deepened the impact of the session.
The event drew to a graceful close with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Jyoti Chandra, NSS Coordinator, Unit 2, and Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, Patna Women’s College, P.U. She expressed sincere gratitude to the speakers for their invaluable insights, the organizing team for their efforts, and the volunteers for their enthusiastic participation, which collectively made the session a resounding success.
In its entirety, the My Bharat Outreach and NSS Orientation Program was not merely an event, but a celebration of youthful energy, civic consciousness, and the enduring spirit of service. It successfully ignited a renewed sense of duty, leadership, and patriotism among all who attended beautifully embodying the core values of the National Service Scheme (NSS).
