Statistics – World Population Day 2025
On July 11th 2025, on the occasion of World Population Day, the Department of Statistics at Patna Women’s College organized a vibrant and thought-provoking Poster-Making Competition on the theme: “Healthy Population Healthy Nation” to highlight issues related to population growth and sustainable development.
A total of eight groups from different departments of the college participated in the event, creating meaningful and creative posters that reflected a deep understanding of population dynamics and its impact on global development. The posters were not only visually appealing but also conveyed strong social messages on factors like family planning, urbanization, resource management, and population control.
The entries were evaluated by a panel of esteemed judges – Dr. Ravindranath Roy Majumdar, Assistant Professor from the Department of Chemistry and Dr. Urwashi Sinha, Assistant Professor from the Department of Botany. The judges were highly impressed by the originality, depth, and artistic expression showcased by the students.
The first prize was awarded to Group 4 Sneha Kumari, Khushi Kumari Dubey and Kesar from the 5th Semester,Department of Statistics, and the second prize went to Group 1 Diksha Kumari, Vaidehi Kumari and Isha from Semester 1, Department of Statistics and the third prize went to Group no. 2 Kristi and Anupriya Semester 3 from BCA Department . The event concluded with encouraging words from the judges, appreciating the students’ efforts and the department’s initiative in organizing such an impactful event.
The Head of Department of Statistics Dr. Moon, congratulates all the winners and participants for their enthusiastic involvement and for making the celebration of World Population Day a memorable success. All the faculties members of the department were also present.
