A “Students Faculty Exchange Programme” was organized between Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) & Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli, from 27.01.2023 to 02.02.2023. The Induction programme was held on 27th January, 2023 in the Mother Veronica Innovation & Excellence Centre. During this “Students Faculty Exchange Programme”, the students received the knowledge of GIS and 3D Animation & Design. During the Induction Programme Dr. Bhawna Sinha, Head, Department of Computer Applications (MCA) introduced the 15 hours “Certificate Course on 3D Animation & Design”. Mrs. V. Amala Deepa, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Computer Science and Dr. G. Arockia Sahaya Sheela, Head, Department of Data Science, Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli along with 12 students attended the Induction Programme.
Under this “Students Faculty Exchange Programme” Mrs. V. Amala Deepa, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Computer Science imparted a lecture on Machine Learning for the MCA Semester-II students. The topics covered were Introduction to Machine Learning and its applications, machine learning techniques, practical approach using Pandas Library in Python.
Dr. G. Arockia Sahaya Sheela, Head, Department of Data Science, imparted a lecture on Data Science & Data Analytics. She gave the introduction on Big Data and explained about the 3 V’s Volume, Velocity and Variety. She discussed about some tools for Business Analytics like Hadoop, Apache, Spark Xplenty. She gave a hands-on practice on R-Studio.
The Department of Computer Applications (MCA) organised a 15 hours training on “3D Animation & Design” from 27.01.2023 to 02.02.2023 for the twelve students of the Holy Cross College (Autonomous). Ms. Sushmita Chakraborty, Course Coordinator, stated that the primary objective of “Training on 3D Animation & Design” which will give the students the experience in all aspects of 3D animation production, modelling, lighting, rendering, animation, simulations and visualizations rigging and compositing for visual effects. She gave the presentation on “Introduction on Photoshop” giving details about uses and demands of Photoshop. She discussed some tools like vector mask, liquify tool, burn tool, layer style and colour adjustment in Photoshop. Ms. Anjalee Sharma, Faculty, 3D Animation & Design gave the demonstration on the interface of Photoshop and uses of tools in images, layer style, blending modes, practical knowledge of image composition, implementation of material, light, camera and movement in 3D Max and character modelling in Maya.
The Department of Computer Applications (MCA), organized a “Thanks Giving Programme” on 02.02.2023 at 12:30 pm to the eminent faculty members and students of Holy Cross College (Autonomous), Tiruchirappalli. A short memorable video on 6 Days Students Faculty Exchange Programme was presented by the students of MCA as a token of appreciation and gratitude. Two students from MCA Semester –II shared their feedback on the course they attended. Certificates were distributed to the students who attended the Training on “3D Animation & Design” and “Machine Learning and Data Analytics”.
