On 24th July 2025, the Department of Sociology, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), Patna University, actively participated in a poster-making competition organized on the occasion of Van Mahotsav – a festival dedicated towards celebrating and promoting the significance of trees and forests.
A total of 102 students from the department took part in the competition in groups, creating insightful and visually compelling posters that highlighted the critical role of forests in sustaining environmental balance. The posters served as powerful visual narratives, emphasizing the importance of forests in ensuring climate stability, biodiversity conservation, water regulation, and overall ecological well-being. The initiative also aimed to foster environmental consciousness and a sense of responsibility among the participants towards the preservation and restoration of natural resources.
The event was organized under the able guidance of Dr. Tapsee Bhattacharjee, Head, Department of Sociology, and was marked by the active involvement and encouragement of all faculty members of the department, contributing significantly to the success of the programme.
