VIGYAN UTSAV 2025: A Celebration of National Science Day at Patna Women’s College “VIGYAN UTSAV 2025,” a grand festival comprising various events organized by all departments of the Faculty of Science at Patna Women’s College, was held to commemorate National Science Day 2025. As part of the celebration, the Department of Biotechnology hosted Mushroom Fiesta, a cooking competition and exhibition.
Students of M.Sc. Biotechnology (Semester II) took charge of the exhibition, showcasing different varieties of mushrooms, various methods involved in mushroom cultivation, and products where mushrooms serve as key ingredients. These concepts were creatively displayed using models. The students also decorated the Mushroom Garden and presented inspiring success stories of women entrepreneurs in the mushroom industry. This exhibition provided students with a valuable opportunity to enhance their knowledge, productivity, and practical skills.
Mushroom Fiesta also featured a cooking competition, in which 17 teams from different colleges, including B.N. College and Patna Women’s College, participated. The event was graced by Prof. Dr. Semra Mirici, a renowned professor from Gazi Faculty of Education, Turkey, as the Chief Guest. She provided insightful feedback and encouraged students to excel in this field.
The competition was judged by:
