Voice-Over Training Workshop

The Department of Mass Communication of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) organized a “Voice-Over Training Workshop” on September 02. The workshop featured a guest lecture by Ms. Soma Chakraborty, a renowned classical dancer, and theatre artist from Bihar, and a current lecturer at the Bhartiya Nritya Kala Academy.

The workshop began with a welcome address by Ms Roma, HoD, Mass Communication. Resource Person Ms. Soma Chakraborty shares her extensive experience working with Akashwani and Doordarshan, providing insightful guidance on voice training, voice modulation, and techniques for anchoring. During the session, Ms. Chakraborty shared valuable tips and knowledge with the students, highlighting the importance of voice control, modulation, and professional nuances required in voice-over artistry. She emphasized the significance of mastering voice techniques for aspiring media professionals and how it plays a crucial role in broadcasting and anchoring careers.
Towards the end of the workshop, the resource person also participated in a short interview taken by Ritu Kumari and Shreya Gautam of Semester V, where she shared further insights and answered questions about her achievements and career journey.
The guest lecture commenced at noon in MVEIC hall and was attended by students from semester III and V. The Head of the Department Ms. Roma and the faculty members Dr. Aprajita Pathak, Mr Ajay Jha, Mr Gaurav Aranya and Ms. Manaya were present during the session.
Dr. Aprajita Pathak, Assistant Professor of Mass Communication, concluded the workshop by extending a vote of thanks to the guest for her valuable time and enlightening session.
