Health Centre, Department of Home Science in collaboration with NSS Unit of Patna Women’s College under Sehat Kendra and Department of Physics organised workshop on First aid to observe World First Aid day in Mother Veronica Excellence Centre on 09/09/2023 at 1:30 p.m. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Sharwan Kumar Singh, National Trainer, Disaster Response and BLS. Dr Sharwan demonstrated a number of basic techniques to educate students about the value of first aid skills and to encourage them to become proficient in providing immediate assistance in medical emergencies. These techniques included CPR, how to stop internal as well external bleeding etc. In his interactive session he also emphasized as to how First aid knowledge and skills can make a significant difference in saving lives and reducing the severity of injuries in various situations, such as accidents, natural disasters, and medical emergencies. The entire programme was moderated by Amanika Vats, Home Science (M.A). The program was organised by the NSS Programme Officers Dr. Shahla Rehana, Associate Professor, Department of English and Dr. Amrita, Assistant Professor, Department of Physics and Dr. Shazia Husain, In-charge of Health centre, Department of Home Science. Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice Principal, Patna Women’s College was also present in the event. The students participated actively in the demonstrations given by the resource person.
