Brief Report:
A workshop was organized on gel electrophoretic technique. On the first day students were demonstrated with the technique of isolation of genomic DNA from bacterial culture. This isolated DNA was separated by agarose gel electrophoresis. In this, students were taught about the process of casting an agarose gel and then running in a TAE buffer. The gel was stained using Ethidium bromide and the bands of DNA were visualized using UV transilluminator.
