Workshop on “Students for Climate Solutions: Food and Biodiversity”
On March 11, 2025, a workshop titled “Students for Climate Solutions: Food and Biodiversity” was held for students of the Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University, and for the students of the Department of Sociology. The event was organized in collaboration with Regenerative Bihar, a campaign focused on promoting climate-resilient agriculture, empowering women farmers, and encouraging seed diversity through practices like regenerative nutrition gardens and live seed farms. The workshop began with an introduction by Father Prakash Louis- Xavier Institute of Social Research – Director at Patna Jesuit Educational Association and other volunteers. The session emphasized the significance of organic farming and a student-centered approach to combating climate change. Students were actively engaged by listening to a short story on the theme and creatively expressing their views through posters. The interactive session fostered a sense of social responsibility regarding the environment and climate change. At the end of the workshop there was a display and stall of “Regenerative Agriculture: The Seed of Sustainability Foods” for the students.The workshop was coordinated by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head, Department of Social Work, Sister Sanjana A.C., Assistant Professor, and Sister Bhagyam A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work. Other Staff members of the Institute along with the volunteers of Regenerative Bihar- Utkarsha Singh, Seema Kumari, Anjani Kumari, Snehlata Suman were also present.
