On March 1, 2025, the Department of Social Work, Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University under the P.A.C.E (Personal Advancement and Career Enhancement) programme, organized an outreach visit to BASE Society (Brothers Association for Solidarity and Empowerment), Bihar Sharif,Nalanda District in observance of World NGO Day, celebrated annually on February 27. The theme for this year was “Empowering Grassroots Movements for a Sustainable Future.” BASE Society is a dedicated non-profit organization working towards the upliftment of marginalized communities, particularly the Mahadalits. Its key initiatives focus on education, vocational and skill development, and self-help groups (SHGs), empowering numerous women to achieve self-reliance. The organization conducts short-term vocational training programme, on-the-job training, assignments, and field visits, integrating essential life skills into its curriculum. During the visit, students from the Department of Social Work actively engaged with trainees enrolled in the General Duty Nursing Assistant (GDA) and Customer Care Executive (CCE) programs. The interaction involved meaningful discussions about their curriculum, aspirations, and career goals, making the experience both insightful and enriching.
The visit was successfully conducted under the supervision of Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head, Department of Social Work, Sister Sanjana A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work, and Sister Bhagyam A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work.
