The Electoral Literacy Club of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous), in collaboration with Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Bihar, organised a momentous Voters Sensitization Programme. Distinguished dignitaries including Mr. H.R. Srinivasa, Chief Electoral Officer, IAS; Mr. Shirsat Kapil Ashok, District Magistrate and Mr. Tanai Sultania, D.D.C. graced the occasion, underscoring the significance of democratic participation and fundamental right to cast vote. The District Magistrate of Patna set the tone of programme with his address, followed by the address of Chief Electoral Officer. The session was not merely informative but served as a beacon of enlightenment, enlightening students of final year on the vital importance of active citizenship and electoral responsibility. The programme aimed to enlighten and empower every individual about the importance of casting their vote as their fundamental right. In a symbolic gesture, Dr. Vinita Priyedarshi, Ms. Puja Kumari and Ms. Fiza Darakshan presented plant saplings to the dignitaries, symbolizing mark of gratitude and a commitment to nurturing democratic values. Thereafter the event proceeded with pledge-taking, where students pledged their unwavering commitment to partake in the electoral process and to cast their votes and show active participation. The event was concluded on a patriotic note with the National Anthem. The seamless moderation by Riya from the Department of Political Science, added a touch of refinement to the occasion. The entire event was well coordinated by Dr. Vinita Priyedarshi, Nodal Officer, Electoral Literacy Club, Patna Women’s College.
