The Department of Biotechnology, Patna Women’s College, organized an educational trip to Nalanda University on December 19, 2024, to provide students with academic exposure to one of India’s oldest and the world’s most prestigious universities. The journey commenced at 8:00 AM, and after approximately 3.5 hours, the group arrived at Nalanda University at 11:30 AM. The visit began with an interactive session with Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh, the Vice-Chancellor, who welcomed the students and provided insights into the university’s historical and academic significance while encouraging them to consider Ph.D. programs at Nalanda University. Following this, students attended an informative presentation by Dr. Sayan Bhattacharya at the School of Environment and Ecology, covering research topics such as microplastics, heavy metals, tiger gut flora, and antioxidants. A subsequent interactive session allowed students to engage in scientific discussions with experts. The tour continued under the guidance of Miss Pragya, who introduced students to various university departments, foreign researchers, the sports complex, and the state-of-the-art central library. The visit provided an enriching experience, offering insights into advanced research facilities and academic opportunities. The trip was a remarkable success, inspiring students to explore further academic and research prospects. The department extends gratitude to Prof. Abhay Kumar Singh, Dr. Sayan Bhattacharya, Miss Pragya, and the college administration, particularly Principal Dr. Sister M. Rashmi AC, Dr. Arti Kumari (HOD), and Dr. Vivek Raj (Assistant Professor), for their support. Special appreciation is also extended to Ashish Sir for ensuring the seamless execution of the visit.
