The Department of Social Work of Patna Women’s College (Autonomous) Patna University, in collaboration with the Social WorkClub ‘SAMARTH’ at MVEIC (Mother Veronica Excellence and Innovation Centre), organized an interactive session to observe World Social Work Day. The theme for this year was “Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Well-being.” World Social Work Day is a globally celebrated annual event that acknowledges the significant contributions of social workers in enhancing individual well-being and promoting social justice. The session featured Father Jesu Raj SJ, Director of Ashadeep, as the esteemed resource person. He engaged the club members in an interactive discussion, emphasizing the role of intergenerational solidarity in shaping a better future. The session emphasized how fostering intergenerational bonds contributes to resilient societies, environmental sustainability, and the transfer of wisdom across age groups. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Sister Sanjana A.C., Assistant Professor, Department of Social Work. The entire program was successfully coordinated by Dr. Mridul Mishra, with the presence of faculty members Sister Sanjana A.C. and Sister Bhagyam A.C. The session was skillfully moderated by Preety Singh, President, Social Work Club ‘SAMARTH’ and MSW student (Semester 2).
