The Department of Mass Communication organized an Anti-Ragging Day on 12th of August to raise awareness among the students regarding the peril. To mark this day the department screened several documentary films related to the subject. The aim was to prohibit, prevent and eliminate the scourge of ragging. The Documentary featured multiple aspects related to ragging like the sections and helpline numbers.

Students in Semester 1 of both undergraduate and postgraduate programs filled out an Anti-Ragging Affidavit on August 13, 2024.

The department organized a poster and slogan contest on the theme “Anti-Ragging” on August 16, marking the third day of the week-long awareness campaign. The event saw enthusiastic participation from various groups, each bringing forward their creative interpretations of the theme. Group 7 emerged as the winner, impressing the judges with a powerful message and eye-catching design, securing the first place. Group 5 followed closely, earning second place with their innovative approach, while Group 2 took the third spot with a thought-provoking entry. Group 1 received a consolation prize for their sincere efforts.

In the Postgraduate category, Varsha stood out with her exceptional work, clinching the first place and adding a touch of brilliance to the competition. The contest not only highlighted the importance of the anti-ragging message but also encouraged students to express their ideas through art and words, fostering a sense of community and shared responsibility.
