Anti-ragging Week, 2024

The Department of Zoology, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, Patna University, observed the Anti-ragging Week from 12.08.2024 to 17.08.2024. The Department organized various activities to make the students of UG and PG Semester-I aware of the consequences of ragging.

On 12.08.2024 the students were shown Short Films highlighting the issues of ragging. They were told to report any incidence related of ragging or harassment of any kind, to the Anti-ragging Committee members of the college.
On 13.08.2024, all the UG and PG Sem-I students filled the online Anti- ragging Affidavit successfully. The Anti-ragging Helpline number was provided to them.
On 16.08.2024 the Department organized a Poster Making Competition with the central theme of addressing the critical issue of ragging. The Topic of the competition was ’Say No to Ragging’. It was a group event with three students in each group. The event witnessed active participation of 62 students in 22 groups including both UG and PG students of the Zoology Department.
Dr. Sapna Kumari, Dr. Neetu and Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Assistant Professors of the Department of Zoology, assumed the roles of judges for the competition.
The prizes were awarded as follows:
The First Position – Sanya Sagar, Sugandha Sinha and Madiha Fatima, M.Sc semester 1 (Code 3)
The Second Position – Nandini Roy, Disha Tiwari and Uruj Fatima M. Sc semester 1 ( Code 2)
and Amrita Kumari Mahto, Jayanti and Amba Jha, M. Sc semester 3 ( Code 14)
The Third Position – Nishi Kumari, Harshita and Shubha Shree, M. Sc 1 (Code 8)
Consolation – Manshi Kumari and Upasana Singh, M. Sc. Semester 1 ( Code 17)

The students exhibited remarkable enthusiasm and their aspiration to contribute positively to the academic community and abstain from the activities of ragging, inside or outside the campus.
