An Electoral awareness drive was organised by the Electoral Literacy Club, Patna Women’s College in collaboration with the Election Commission of India. The students of semester IV and semester VI (both UG and PG), Patna Women’s College attended the programme in Veronica Auditorium. The objective of the programme was to educate the students regarding the importance of voting and making them aware of the voting procedure. The session began with an introductory speech by the Nodal Officer of the Electoral Literacy Club of Patna Women’s College, Dr Vinita Priyedarshi followed by a talk by Shree Srikanth Kundalik Khandekar, SDM, Patna who told the students about the procedure to be followed while filling the voter registration form. Shree Manoranjan Kumar, ERO, Kumrahar later on talked about the techniques and the documents required while filling the forms.

District Magistrate, Dr Chandra Shekhar Singh addressed the students and told them about the literacy campaign being carried out by the Election Commission of India for the upcoming election. He also had an interactive session with the students. The programme was moderated by Miss Fiza Darakshan, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and Vote of Thanks was proposed by Miss Taniya Banerjee, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science, Patna women’s college.
