The Department of Botany celebrated Freshers’ Day on 30/07/2024 with much joy, zeal and enthusiasm. Dr. Sister Celine Crasta A.C , Head Department of History and Miss Komal Kumari, Assistant professor, Department of Sociology were the guests for the event.They were welcomed with a plant sapling . Invoking Gods blessing, the proramme started with a prayer dance performed by Anushka Singh and Khushboo Kumari. Group of students from Semester I, welcomed the guests with a melodious song which was followed by an address by the Head, Department of Botany, Dr. Pinky Prasad. For selection of Miss Fresher, all the participants were given 2 minutes to introduce themselves, show their talent and answer a common question, “How they can make positive contribution to the college?”  Meghna Kashyap was crowned as Miss Fresher 2024. A scintillating dance performance was presented by a group of students and all the participants marked the grand finale of the event.
The entire programme was moderated very well by Semester I students Sanjana Bharti, Shristi Singh and Somali Sharma. Vote of thanks was proposed by Shristy Shree The Student council was represented by Miss Stuti Singh. The programme was attended by all the teaching and non teaching staff of the Department of Botany.
