The Health Centre, Department of Home Science organised “Hands-on-training” programme to observe World First Aid Day on September 14, 2024 in Carmel Hall. The resource person for the event was Dr. Khursheed Alam, Orthopaedic Surgeon, Medical Officer, Central Diepensary, Patna University, Patna. The session started with the discussion about various tools and important antiseptics that we must have in our First Aid box. Continuing the session, he demonstrated techniques of dressing the wounds of different body parts. He also made slings from household availabile items. In the session, he let the students learn and practice the techniques of using crepe bandage for different types of fractures/sprains. The entire programme was moderated by Khushboo Kumari, Student of M.A. Semester I and Vote of Thanks was proposed by Archana Kumari, Student of B.A. Semester V. The programme was organised by Dr. Shazia Husain, Incharge of Health Centre and Assistant Professor, Department of Home science. The entire event was organised under the guidance of Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice-Principal and Head, Department of Home Science, Patna Women’s College. The programme was successful and saw enthusiastic participation of students.
