International Day of Yoga 2024

The Department of Philosophy of Patna Women’s College celebrated “International Day of Yoga” on 21st June, 2024 at Yoga Centre of the college under the guidance of Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College and Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal, Head, Department of Philosophy in collaboration with Prajapita Brahmkumaris Iswariya Vishwa Vidyalay on the theme of “Yoga for Women Empowerment”.
The programme commenced with a brief welcome address by Dr. Ameeta Jaiswal, Head, Department of Philosophy. She emphasized the significance of yoga in daily life and the reasons for celebrating the international day of yoga. Following this, the yog asanas were conducted by Ms. Neetu Kumari, Yoga instructor, Patna Women’s College. According to the yoga protocol, the asanas like Kasth Takshanashan, Surya Namskar, Ardh Ustrashan etc. were demonstrated. Another session on Raj Yog meditation was conducted by Brahmkumari B.K Mridula and her team where they discussed about the existence of soul and techniques to focus on the inner light and maintain a positive outlook.
Altogether 50 students and 20 staff members of Patna Women’s College actively participated. This yoga session was very helpful for all the students and staffs at this point of time for their mental and physical relaxation and well-being, and to get rid of stress. Faculty members of Patna Women’s College present during the entire programme included Sister Jincy, Sister Gracy, Sister Anna, Dr. Vinita Priyedarshi, Dr. Kumkum and Dr. Sumit Ranjan.
