The Department of Social Work , Patna Women’s College organised a Workshop on 9th March to celebrate ‘International Women’s Day’ with the theme “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress”. The resource person was Mr. Shravan Jha, the chief knowledge officer I-Saksham Foundation, Bihar and Mrs. Radha, team member, I-Saksham Foundation,Bihar.The students were made aware about the Vision of I- Saksham i.e : ‘Voice and choice for every woman’ and how to accelerate the women to be the social change agent and also about the various opportunities for women to grow as ‘Edu- Leaders’ in the remote villages of Bihar through collaborative networks by focusing on three differentiators personal, education, and community.The importance of ‘Inspire Inclusion’ was explained to students that ‘ When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world.’ At the end the students discussed about various career opportunities and scope and other queries were addressed by the resource person.It was a very fruitful and enlightening session, the students had a great learning experience. The session ended with the Vote of thanks given by Dr. Mridul Mishra, Head of Department, Department of Social Work.The faculty members of the Department of Social Work Sr. Sanjana A.C. and Ms. Akanksha were also present.
