Orientation Programme 2024
Lexicon ,the Language Club of Patna Women’s College was inaugurated on 16th October, 2024. An inaugural cum orientation programme was held at MVEIC Hall, Science Block, Patna Women’s College to mark the occasion. The programme commenced with a brief introduction given by the moderator Swati Alice Clifton of M. A. Semester III which was followed by the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the beginning of a journey dedicated to knowledge and learning.
Following this, the core representatives were pinned with the badges of the club by the special guests. Next, Dr. Devina Krishna introduced the new members with the main aims and objectives of the club. Dr. Chandra in her address, emphasised the significance of language in cultural and intellectual growth. She spoke about the principles and parameters of language and discussed the idea of knowledge vs performance.
Next, Dr. Sahar Rahman, Head of Department, addressed the gathering, and emphasised upon the significance of multilingualism in fostering harmony and peace. Prof. Anvita Abbi, the renowned linguist, conveyed her wishes to the club members and the coordinator through a video message.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Soumya Vartika of B. A. Semester III. The event reflected the collective enthusiasm and dedication of the members toward fostering a love for languages.
