*Projections: Screening of The Tempest *
Department of English, in collaboration with Lit Wit, the Literary Society, organised a screening of the stage presentation of William Shakespeare’s play The Tempest at Mother Veronica Innovation Centre at Patna Women’s College under the programme Projections on 19 September 2024. The adaptation was directed by Des McAnuff and starred Christopher Plummer as Prospero. Melbar Entertainment Group has produced the play presentation with Stratford Shakespeare Festival Production. Students of MA Sem 1 (37 students), Department of English watched the movie and participated in the programme. After the screening, Dr Sahar Rahman, Head, Department of English, talked about Projections, a regular department activity wherein movies based on literary texts are screened, followed by a discussion with the students.
Dr. Prabhat Jha and Dr. Apurba Paul, Assistant Professors in the Department of English at Patna Women’s College, coordinated the Event.
Dr. Deepika Tiwari, Assistant Professor, Department of English and Coordinator, Literary Society, was also present during the screening.
Mahin Noor of MA Sem 1, moderated the programme, and Shubh Shree of MA Sem 1, proposed the vote of thanks.
