Srijan Club Activity ‘Kalashari – 2025 ‘
The department of Fashion Designing and Srijan club of Patna Women’s College, Autonomous (P.U.) organised ‘Kalashari – 2025’ a live demo cum workshop of Folk art of Bihar on 21st March on the occasion of Bihar Diwas 2025. The beauty of Folk art of Bihar was highlighted during this theme-based workshop ‘Unnat Bihar Vikshit Bihar’. Students displayed diverse crafts, including Madhubani painting, Tikuli art, Gudiya making, Paper mache, Bhojpuri painting, Manjusha painting of Bhagalpur, Terracotta work, Kashidakari, Sikki work, Laah work, applique and Sujni work of Bihar. Students also learn various skills through this kind of participative learning and exploration of entrepreneurial skill through the workshop and live demo of handcrafted items. It gives students the opportunity to develop analytical and critical thinking skill for innovative design ideas in the field of Folk art and craft.
The occasion was formally inaugurated with lighting the lamp by Dr. Sister M. Rashmi A.C., Principal, Patna Women’s College. Many faculties and students of various departments witnessed enthusiastically this live craft demonstration and appreciated the programme. It was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Shemushi Madhu, the Head, Dept. of Fashion Designing and Ms. Geetanjali Choudhary, incharge of Srijan club and coordinator of the department. The other faculty members Ms. Asha Pandey, Ms. Priyanka Singh, Dr. Purnima Roy and Ms. Vandana Sinha also helped the students to achieve excellence in the field of creative ideas. All Srijan club members and Fashion Designing students actively participated in this workshop.
