The Department of Home Science in collaboration with Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics organized a poster-making competition on 1st August, 2025 on the occasion of Breastfeeding Promotion Week. This event is celebrated from 1 August to 7 August every year.The theme of Breastfeeding Promotion Week is ‘Prioritize Breastfeeding: Create Sustainable Support Systems.’ This theme highlights the need for long-term equitable support for breastfeeding mothers and the connection between mothers and child. Breastfeeding objectives focus on promoting optimal growth, development, and health for infants and mothers.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from both UG and PG students as well as Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics students. The competition aimed to encourage students to raise awareness about the importance of breastfeeding. The competition was judged by Dr. Nupur Sinha, Assistant Professor, Psychology Department, with Miss Kamaljeet Kaur, Assistant Professor, Economics Department, and Miss Enakshi Dey Biswas.
The following students emerged as winners: (Code No. 3.) Neha Kumari, Sara Iraqi ,Chandni Singh and (Code No. 7) Asfa Jabeen,Asiya Naaz,Adeeba Kulsum and Fatma Naseem secured the First Prize, (Code No. 12 ) Ananya Awasthi,Prachi Kumari,Satakshi Soumya, won the Second Prize, and (Code No. 8 )Rishika, Khushi Pandey,Gauri Swastika,and Aradhana Shreya won the Third Prize.
The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sister M. Tanisha A.C., Vice Principal and Head Department of Home Science at Patna Women’s College. This Program was coordinated by Dr. Sunita Kumari, Assistant Professor, Department of Home Science, including all faculty members.
