On October 16, 2024, the Vigyan Club, Patna Women’s College Autonomous, was inaugurated with an aim to foster a deeper appreciation for scientific learning and research among the students.

The ceremony commenced with the auspicious lighting of the lamp, followed by a soulful prayer song that set a serene and uplifting tone for the occasion.

The welcome address was delivered by Dr. Shobha Srivastava, Dean of Science and Head of the Zoology Department. In her speech, she emphasized the role of science in shaping young minds and highlighted the importance of platforms like the Vigyan Club in promoting curiosity-driven learning.

Dr. Kavita Verma, Head of the Department of Physics and Coordinator of the Vigyan Club, took the stage to explain the importance and objectives of the Vigyan Club. She also elaborated on the symbolism behind the Club’s logo, which represents the club’s commitment to innovation, research, and community engagement in scientific endeavors.

Following this, Dr. Urvashi Sinha, Assistant Professor, Department of Botany and Coordinator, Vigyan Club further elaborated on the mission and vision of the Vigyan Club, outlining its focus on encouraging student participation in science-based activities, workshops, and collaborative projects. She also introduced the newly elected leadership team of the Vigyan Club:

Anupriya, Vice President
Khushi Pandey, Secretary
The student leaders expressed their excitement and encouraged their peers to actively participate in the activities organized by the club. Anshika Raj, the newly appointed President of the Vigyan Club, shared her vision for the club’s future and invited students to embrace the opportunities provided by this initiative. Vice President Anupriya and Secretary Khushi Pandey echoed these sentiments, urging fellow students to engage with the club’s activities and to cultivate a love for science.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Khushi Pandey, who expressed gratitude to the faculty, students, and organizers for their contributions and support in making the inauguration a success.

The members of the club and the teachers unanimously took a pledge to create a vibrant and dynamic community of young scientists, promoting creativity, critical thinking, and scientific literacy across disciplines.
