The Department of Commerce of Patna Women’s College, (Autonomous), Patna University, successfully organised a Workshop-Cum Training Programme on 5th October at 1:30 PM in the M.V.E.I.C. for the students of B. Com Semester V, in collaboration with Imarticus Learning (a Leading EdTech Company in India). Imarticus Learning offers courses designed to bridge the gap between academia and industry, providing students with practical skills and training necessary for their career in Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Data Science & Machine Learning, etc. This programme aimed to provide students with insights into contemporary career opportunities in the field of commerce. The Programme commenced with the inaugural address by Dr. Soofia Fatima, Head, Department of Commerce, and Dean, Faculty of Commerce and Management. She emphasised on the practical knowledge and a deeper understanding and development of the skills required in the modern workforce. The Workshop featured sessions from esteemed Resource Person Ms. Nandita Nadig, Vice President of Imarticus Learning, Mumbai, and Mr. Gyanendra Murari, Associate Vice President, Imarticus Learning, Delhi. The sessions highlighted on the innovative career avenues available in the corporate job market beyond traditional roles. The presentation aimed to inspire students to explore diverse professional options and prepare them for a rapidly evolving job landscape. Ms. Nadig shared her expertise on Investment Banking, discussed various products and functions within the Banking Sector. She also discussed on the relevance of practical knowledge of Equity and Derivatives. She emphasized the importance of effective communication skills and encouraged students to reflect on their strengths and weaknesses. The event was organised with the objective to foster academic excellence and equipping students with the necessary tools to succeed in the career. This workshop is part of a series of initiatives designed to empower students and prepare them for the challenges of the professional world. The event was attended by the students of B. Com (Hons) Semester V and the faculty members of the Department of Commerce. The students shared their feedback regarding the session. Ms. Anushka, Student of Semester III, B.com (A&F) moderated the event while Ms. Shatakshi, student of Semester V, delivered the Vote of Thanks. The session concluded with the National Anthem.
