On the occasion of Earth Day, the ECO Task Force, Patna Women’s College, Autonomous, organized a Cleanliness Drive and Plantation Programme on 22.04.2023 in Indrapuri area, Patna.

The programme was organized by Dr. Shobha Shrivastava, Head, Department of Zoology and Vice President ECO Task Force, PWC to raise awareness about cleanliness, hygiene, and environmental problems and encourage students to do something substantial to protect our planet.

31 Members of ECO Task Force, students of UG and PG, Department of Zoology, removed the garbage including plastics, food items, old cans, broken glasses, old rotten clothes etc. from a playground of the area. After cleaning the area students planted Ashok, Peepal, Jamun and Kadamb trees in the campus. The newly planted saplings were handed over to the local people so that they can take care of them.

Dr. Neetu and Dr. Sumeet Ranjan, Assistant Professors and Mr. Denis and Mr Telesphore, support staff of Department of Zoology, actively participated in conducting the programme.

The citizens of the area appreciated the efforts of the ECO Task Force members and felt motivated to contribute selflessly in keeping their surroundings clean and green.
